Who We Are
"We" are Heather and Mark. After a lifetime of living in Missouri (for me) we transplanted ourselves to Astoria, Oregon. Home to the first settlement west of the Rocky Mountains and now home to us, son Zachary, and our two dogs Abby, a German Shorthair Pointer and Cash, a Weimeraner. When we bought our first home here, going to yard sales was out of necessity just to have the things we needed to get by with until our "real" belongings got here nearly a year and a half later. For both of us, it quickly became a hobby, then an obsession, and now a small business.
We have purchased such interesting things in the two years we have been doing this. Some of the things are life-long purchases and many others we are "foster" homes to until the perfect home comes along. For a lot of our items, we live with them. We display them, we love them, and we use them. Mark is really enjoying the repairing and repurposing aspect of all of this, I love to list and sell the things. We both enjoy doing the research on each and every item--especially those unique ones that are really difficult to figure out. What makes our Vintage finds really fun for us is knowing the history, the story, the provenance.
Sometimes we buy what we know will sell and make others fill with joy, sometimes it is the newest trend. But it is ALWAYS the unusual--the Funk, if you will. So come on in, read the blog and always look at what we have for sale!
